The poll numbers have again reverted and iffy loses again. Come on iffy, lets have an election. But despite the fact that the prorogation period caused many Canadians to change their view of Mr. Harper for the worse, nearly half of voters -- 46% -- still say he's the right man for the job he has.Mr. Layton was the second most popular answer when survey respondents were asked to name the leader they thought would be the best PM. He scored 33% support on that question, an improvement of 10 percentage points since Ipsos asked the same question a year ago.Mr. Layton has now overtaken Mr. Ignatieff in every category of leadership attributes that Ipsos polls on.Mr. Ignatieff is seen as the best man to be PM by just 21% of voters. A year ago, 33% of respondents thought he would be the best man to...

Inspite of the mudslinging grits and their so called scandals, the Tories still lead and 55% of Canadians believe we are going in the right direction. The dion disaster in Quebec worsens.A crop poll shows the grits are losing support in Montreal and are now in fourth place overall in Quebec! I dare dion to call an election. Ottawa, ON – On the heels of a series of recent gaffs and the sacking of one of the Conservative Party’s rising stars, Maxime Bernier, a new Ipsos Reid poll conducted on behalf of CanWest News Service and Global Television finds that support for the Conservatives appears not to have suffered as a result. The Conservatives, under Prime Minister Stephen Harper, are receiving support from 36% of decided voters nation-wide (up 1 point), while support for Liberals...

Looks like Canadians like the status quo. The poll numbers have returned to their usual levels. However since I know that HM PM Harper is a good campaigner and dion is not. I think that the Tories can do better after an electoral camapign, which is beginning to feel close again. The new national survey, conducted by Ipsos Reid exclusively for CanwestNews Service and Global National, shows the Conservatives resuming their lead on the Grits, with 37 per cent support compared to 29 per cent held by their main opposition. The poll shows a jump in support of four per cent by the Tories while the Grits dropped six per cent since the last survey two weeks ago....

The pol numbers are bouncing around 40% for the Tories in the latests polls. The Tories are tied with the BQ in Quebec. I am still dubious of all these polls, but it is nice to see the Tories at over 40%. This will also not encourage the grits to defeat HM Government.New poll puts Tories closer to majorityNorma Greenaway , CanWest News ServicePublished: Friday, November 09, 2007OTTAWA - Fuelled by unprecedented support in Quebec, the federal Conservative party has zoomed to 42 per cent support among decided voters, a high water mark that puts Prime Minister Stephen Harper closer to his goal of winning a majority government, a new national Ipsos-Reid poll says. The survey said that while the Tories were up three points from last week, the Liberals remained stuck 14 points back with the...

HM PM Stephen Harper is much more popular than dion. In Quebec dion is dea last of the leaders in popularity. It is also interesting that if HM Government falls on the throne speech, 56% of people will blame the opposition. All of this is very good news. The scary Harper mantra of the grits seems even more lame than before,Harper Mr. Popularity compared to Dion, Duceppe: pollNorma Greenaway , CanWest News ServicePublished: Tuesday, October 16, 2007OTTAWA - Stephen Harper has never been accused of being the Mr. Charisma of Canadian politics, but the prime minister swamps his chief rival, Liberal Stephane Dion, in the leadership ratings, a new national poll says. The poll, released amid election speculation that waxes and wanes by the hour, also says Harper is giving Bloc Quebecois Leader...
A new Strtegic council poll say most Canadians don't want dion as PM. I am not surprised Dion is not a leader.I wonder when the other grits are going to attack?Majority of Canadians do not want Dion as PM: poll Updated Wed. Jun. 13 2007 7:53 AM ET CTV.ca News Staff A majority of Canadians do not want to see Liberal Leader Stephane Dion become prime minister, finds a new national public opinion poll. Fifty-two per cent polled said they didn't want him in the country's top job....
As a Christian, I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is nice to see many Americans belive that too. An interesting poll: Polls: Most believe Bible as God's wordBy Jennifer HarperTHE WASHINGTON TIMESMay 30, 2007More than three-quarters of Americans believe the Bible is literally the word of God or inspired by the word of God, according to a trio of Gallup surveys, with 19 percent saying the Good Book is a compendium of myth and legend. The three surveys found that an average 31 percent of the respondents said that "the Bible is absolutely accurate and should be taken literally word for word," according to Frank Newport, editor in chief of the Gallup Poll. Forty-seven percent said the Bible was "the inspired word of God," and 19 percent said it was a book of ancient...
One of my readers pointed out this CTV online poll to me. ( Thanks Timothy Coderre) The CTV obviously wanted another result.Should the prime minister be visiting the front lines in Afghanistan? No, much too dangerous 1378 votes (13 %)Yes, good show of support 9287 votes (87 %)Total Votes: 10665 So for all the cynicism of the grit loyal press corps, the people of Canada are happy that HM PM is supporting the troops. And showing he supports them by being with...
I got to speak to Nik Nanos of SES polls on Joe Cannon the New 940. I told Nanos I usually found his polls accurate.I wasn't so sure about his latest. I asked him why he believed the Afghan mission was dragging down the Tories in the polls, considering the grits also voted for the mission and initiated it. Nanos replied the Tories seemed more eager for the mission. He thinks the Canadian public will not tolerate Canadian deaths. This is true inspite of the thousands that die on our roads annually, that the public doesn't give a second thought. Inspite of the many that die by drug overdose. We even had a peace keeper die in the middle east. The Canadian people have become so caught up in grit cowardice and the rewriting of our history, that we may no longer be able to defend ourselves...
If you had told me the Tories would be ahead of the Bloc in a poll six months ago, I would have said you were crazy. The province holds 75 of Canada's 308 federal seats.Mr. Bricker attributed the Conservative upswing to several factors, including a bounce from the March 26 provincial election in which Mr. Harper openly supported Quebec Premier Jean Charest, who secured a minority victory in a tight race that saw the separatist Parti Quebecois finish third, behind the upstart, right-leaning ADQ."I think the separatist option is in disrepute in comparison to even a few months back," said Mr. Bricker. "If you're not voting for the separatists, where do you go? Maybe the soft nationalist option that Stephen Harper seems to represent has a bit more appeal."Mr. Bricker suspects the Liberals,...
