Fighting back via Dr Roy's Thoughts April 10th, 2010 at 15:08

There is some pushback in the war against men and boys. At least misandry is being talked about. Maybe a men's studies program maybe a good counter to the man hating women's studies programs. I am sure the third wave feminists will object. Their goal is a world with oppressed men and boys. Some of these radicals would refuse to raise male children and probably abort male babies. Fortunately most women still love their fathers, sons and brothers. Unfortunately this radica group has taken over academia. While not exactly an endangered species, men are in danger of becoming an underclass, the panel of PhDs specializing in boys and men warned. In the latest recession, 82% of pink slips handed out in the United States went to men, and a good chunk of those jobs won't be coming back. Boys...

Shared Parenting via Dr Roy's Thoughts March 10th, 2010 at 14:55

I agree with this former grit MP. I like the idea of shared parenting. Too many divorced men are shut out of their children's lives. Both Child and parent suffer because of this. I believe our family law courts are stridently feminist and anti male. Let's bring back some balance.Ex-MP calls for shared parentingDIVORCE: Sarnia-Lambton's Roger Gallaway says judges should grant equal parenting except in proven cases of abuseBy IAN GILLESPIE, THE LONDON FREE PRESSLast Updated: March 10, 2010 8:35amWhen it comes to gaining access to their kids, a growing number of divorced fathers say they've been stymied by a police and court system that reflexively views women as believable and men as violent. It's an emotional topic that dismays many of those who work in the field of domestic violence. But a...

Really starnge via Dr Roy's Thoughts October 21st, 2009 at 16:08

Barbara Kay writes about a really strange phenomena which is also disgusting. A baby whatever sex it is , is a blessing. It's sad that these "parents" in particular can't see that.Since up to now “gender disappointment” (GD) has been a phenomenon universally associated with female inferiority in patriarchal cultures, I was intrigued by the title of an article in ELLE magazine’s online site by Ruth Shalit Barrett, “Girl Crazy: Women Who Suffer from Gender Disappointment.”The article takes the measure of a new phenomenon, a mirror image of the gender pathology we see in honour/shame societies: women so desperate for a female child they will do anything and spend any amount of money to ensure it. According to Barrett, their efforts may include: eating keffir, berries and sesame...

dead beat media via Dr Roy's Thoughts May 19th, 2009 at 06:38

An interesting editorial on how our culture attacks fathers and men. Apparently the crying all the time lifetime network is doing a reality show on deadbeat dads. They ignore that mothers often don't give access to their ex husbands and courts do little about that. They also ignore that must fathers do indeed pay. This show is just more man bashing.Lifetime TV's new reality show, "Deadbeat Dads," centers around National Child Support founder Jim Durham, who finds and confronts dads who do not pay their child support. Reuters news agency reports that Mr. Durham "functions as sort of a 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' for tracking deadbeats ... it's ambush reality TV." However, the reality show, originally developed at Fox as "Bad Dads" and later dropped, is Lifetime's attempt to take cheap shots at...

The abuse excuse via Dr Roy's Thoughts July 30th, 2008 at 19:10

image Apparently in Great Britain, kiilling men is Ok, but killing women is a no no. I believe in self defense in response to an immediate threat. This is just an excuse for murder for womenThe trouble is that these changes give the impression that the law would regard one kind of domestic violence (by women) leniently while viewing another kind (by men) as beyond the pale. The fact that they are being fielded by a trio of feminists such as Mses Harman, Eagle and Baird doesn't help matters. This, you feel, is the feminist take on murder. In response, Erin Pizzey, the founder of the original battered women's refuge, points out that if women are in fear of violence, they should get out of the house where it's happening rather than killing the man concerned....

Our gender biased family courts via Dr Roy's Thoughts July 18th, 2008 at 12:25

image Radical feminists like to mouth the word equality a lot, but they absolutely do not believe in it. If they did they would be shouting from the roofs, denouncing the anti male gender bias of our courts. They would be demanding co parenting after divorce. Instead they want women to be perpetual victims and men to be bashed at every turn. The radical feminists who believe the right to killing their children is a victory, see their children as their chattel. They seem to care little for their welfare or mental health. There are many women who don't actually hate men and actually love their children. Barbara Kay defends men and children yet again today. As many New Men are shocked to learn, all the midnight feedings, bedtime stories and soothing Band-Aid applications to scraped knees count...

The war on men and boys via Dr Roy's Thoughts June 16th, 2008 at 03:01

image David Warren has an excellent piece on the feminist war against men and boys. But men are not exceptionally evil, nor women neither. Some of each are monsters, in their several ways. All are subject to temptations, and our skewed family law has the effect of putting so many temptations in the way of women, that many fail to resist. Not because they are women, but because of skewed law, many women employ the dirty tactic of laying false charges that, under our present order, will immediately get them custody and whatever else they maywant -- with little risk of punishment, even if they are caught lying. This simply stands to reason.Indeed, the removal of common sense from family law -- and its replacement, over the last two generations, with various feminist mantras -- has made this problem...

More feminist lies via Dr Roy's Thoughts June 8th, 2008 at 22:36

image David Warren has a good piece on radical feminism and its man bashing ways.   It's feminist slander that men are inherently violentDavid Warren, The Ottawa CitizenPublished: Sunday, June 08, 2008I'm not sure I said enough about domestic violence last week, while attacking a vicious "public service" advertisement from the Canadian Women's Foundation, designed to focus hatred on "white males" -- though perhaps I did say enough to satisfy some of my feminist readers. I mentioned the ad as a token for what has in fact been a long-rolling social and political campaign, nay melodrama, dating back before the "take back the night" spectacles of the '90s, before the "recovered memory syndrome" hysteria of the '80s, before the "pantsuit revolution" of the '70s, to the pioneers of "second-wave"...

Feminists and the war against men and boys via Dr Roy's Thoughts April 7th, 2008 at 18:40

image Gay and Right has linked to a great Barbara Kay piece. Feminism is now helping to wage an eternal war against men and boys.In its earliest and most benign form – the political campaign to achieve equality under the law and equality in economic opportunities – feminism was a necessary and welcome reform movement. No rational person could be less than delighted to see barriers to a full range of educational and career options for women fall by the wayside. The feminism I take exception to today is not the mild and blameless right of a woman to self-actualize that all women absorb by osmosis from the cultural air we breathe, but the radical ideology that has come to dominate the movement’s academic and institutional elites over the last 40 years. This is an ideology that sees the...

The war aginst men and boys via Dr Roy's Thoughts April 5th, 2008 at 17:39

image An interesting new book. I believe that there is a war against men and boys. Is there a war against Fathers In America?By Albert MohlerFriday, April 4, 2008Albert Mohler recently interviewed Stephen Baskerville. Dr. Baskerville is a professor at Patrick Henry College and author of the book, “Taken Into Custody: The War Against Fatherhood, Marriage and the Family.”Mohler: I find fascinating the fact that you have a rather aggressive title here: you’re talking about a war against fathers, marriage and the family. There are a lot of people who, I think, are unaware of this war. Help us understand it.Baskerville: Most people are unaware of it until they are sucked into it—usually through the family court system, divorce or some other method. Americans would be very shocked if they...

Another TV show not to watch via Dr Roy's Thoughts January 6th, 2008 at 21:47

image Once again Hollywood puts out a man bashing show. No suprises, but kind of sad.Fake 'Cashmere' chafesTelevision review | The nails are out in 'Sex & the City' in a business suitJanuary 5, 2008BY DOUG ELFMAN Television CriticWine, whine, men are swine. On "Cashmere Mafia," men cheat. Men cower. Men are afraid to ask their beloveds to simply "relax," lest they get their male heads chewed off.If you're a female excited by such characterizations, help yourself to this pile-on-a-thon of pricey nails and dicey males....

More anti male bias by feminist grits via Dr Roy's Thoughts December 15th, 2007 at 17:32

image A good piece by Family lawyer Karen Selick. Divorce law in this country and particularly our familly law judges are decidedly pro woman. In matters of child custody and financial matters the woman in divorce almost always win. Its time to level the playing field. The absence of fathers from the lives of children has devastating consequences. Woman's rights should not always mean sticking it to men. men have rights as well.I disagree. The impact of the proposed change would be subtle, but nevertheless real and harmful. It would elevate domestic violence to a new level of prominence in the minds of custody-seeking parents and litigious lawyers. It would encourage over-anxious or vindictive spouses to make spurious or inflated claims.False allegations of violence are already a serious...

Divorce via Dr Roy's Thoughts December 8th, 2007 at 14:07

image I don't like divorce much. i fortunately have few in my circle who have divorced. My main two problems with divorce is its destructive effects on children and the decided anti-male bent of family law courts. Divorce is now part of the war on men and boys. Barbara Kay gets it, unlike the feminists like Irene Mathyssen , who hate men. This anti-male philosophy continues with the help of the liberal's and the NDP who oppose shared parenting and pander to the radical feminists. Witness the grit response to senator Ann Cool' suggestions for shared parenting. If feminism is meant to bring equality to the sexes why are feminists not complaining that men men are discriminated against?Of the myriad forms of discrimination men cite, one looms over the rest: The egregious treatment meted out to...

A wonderful piece by Barbara Kay via Dr Roy's Thoughts November 7th, 2007 at 10:24

image I have long said there is a war against men and boys going on by the feminists and the left. Too long all men have been deemed rapists. Now boy behaviour is "treated" in schools with ritalin. The media has the stereotype of the oafish , stupid father and the clever mother as a standard plot line. It is nice to see that men still have many women who are friends and allies. Even some feminists( like Doris lessing) have realized this has gone too far. I suspect this is one of the reasons younger women rejct feminism. As Remembrance Day annually reminds us, war is the least attractive method for resolving group hostilities. If a truce between the sexes is to be achieved, the public's sympathy must be engaged bilaterally. The media must recognize its culpability here, and reform their...

An interesting article on Ritalin via Dr Roy's Thoughts June 8th, 2007 at 13:03

I am not a big fan of ritalin use. It seems to be used mostly to curb normal behaviour of boys. It is the nanny state trying to keep children quiet without much effort. It is a weapon of the feminist left against boys. There was an interesting article in the CMAJ this week.My analysis of the prospective data for a sample of children living with 2 biological parents in 1994 showed that children whose parents divorced between 1994 and 2000 were more likely than those whose households remained intact to be prescribed methylphenidate. These findings are consistent with those from studies showing that living in a household without 2 biological parents is a risk factor for methylphenidate use,14–16 and they build on this research by showing that divorce itself is a predictor of subsequent...
